There are lots of options for insoles that are on the market. Whether it be off the shelf, customizable, or custom-made orthotics we know this can be confusing You may wonder what is the difference and why is custom-made orthotics preferred for certain feet?
Last year, we had a client come in that had purchased an insole from another provider. This insole was not working and the pain kept coming back. So, this person decided to try custom orthotics.
As you can see from the photos, the insole they had purchased elsewhere (bottom photo) was not supporting the foot properly. When comparing it to the custom-made orthotic (top photo) you can see the orthotic is made for the foot, giving this person the support they required.
Sometimes these insoles can give the foot enough support, but depending on the foot and the issues you are experiencing custom-made may be the way to go!
If you are unsure if you could benefit from custom-made orthotics or an off the shelf insole, feel free to contact us!
