As cooler days and crunchy leaves on sidewalks become more common, many of us are wanting to spend more time outside. If you have been walking/running indoors on a treadmill, check out these tips to help you transition!

Start slow, if you are wanting to start running ensure you are starting at a lower distance and increasing gradually to reduce injuries, such as shin splints

🏃🏽‍♀️ Stretch it out, after exercising it is important to cool down with a stretch especially since the impact from pavement may be different than a treadmill

Try softer terrain, it may be easier to start on a trail or through a park rather than starting on pavement. Softer ground will have less impact on the joints.
