This process is in depth and important. Our Pedorthists assess, cast and measure to fit. We work with a custom shoe maker who we trust to make sure all of your needs are met. Don’t think that you’re stuck to just drab either, there are many colours and styles to choose from when deciding what kind of footwear you need.

Custom made shoes may be prescribed by a specialist (surgeon, internist, arthritis specialist) to be covered by health insurance.

Modifications to footwear would include a lift for a leg length difference, point stretching for bunions or hammer toes, rockered soles for those with limited range of motion in the ankle, or a buttress/flare to provide additional support and reduce excessive pronation or supination.

We take pride in all modifications to make them as discreet as possible. Shantz Orthotic Solutions does all custom modifications at our clinic in the on-site lab. This makes for a completely tailored experience where we can do to-the-minute updates as we do the final fit to your shoes. With a great deal of experience in shoe modifications, our trained pedorthists can modify almost ANY shoe!
